Tell the Truth. Be the Change

This unique and meaningful design created by Coast Salish Artist Maynard Johnny Jr. shares his truth which are the catalyst to the “be the change” movement inspired by this orange shirt.

“A girl and boy sharing the same mouth and an upside down Canadian maple leaf and cross in the mouth to signify the Canadian government and Catholic Church stealing and forcing our children to stop speaking our language and practice our culture.

Canadians need to BE THE CHANGE in order to move forward.”

Today, and everyday, we stand in solidarity and love with and for Indigenous peoples and fully embrace the truth of our shared history- no matter how uncomfortable that is- in order to co create a new pathway for the future. To move forward in a good way, as one heart, one mind.
